Hi,
I had a dock D3000 with Windows 8.0, it worked (with problems, but worked) till I've upgraded to 8.1 (without upgrading Displaylink). It stopped to work at all.
Then I did uninstall of Displaylink, cleaning, installed 7.5, rebooted many times. After plugin the cable, computer seems to see "something" as it creates buzz after plugin/plugoff, but nothing is visible in device manager. Dock is powered, ethernet is blinking.
In C:\Windows\System32\Drivers I can't see any displaylink drivers. Please see my log attached.
I'd appreciate for your help.

Hi,
Can you try these steps?
1. Disconnect dock
2. Uninstall DisplayLink software
3. Run this tool http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
4. Re-install 7.5 M0
5. Connect dock with monitor attached.
Thanks,
James

Hi,
Did you try all the steps (1-5) that I mentioned?
You'll need to disconnect your dock, then uninstall the Displaylink software, then run the Cleaner Tool, then reboot, then install DisplayLink software v7.5 M0 and then finally reconnect your dock.
This is also mentioned here in the last paragraph:

Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
James

Hi,
When you connect the dock can you check if a Generic USB Hub / Generic USB Superspeed Hub appears in Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers?
Conversely does the Generic USB Hub / Generic USB Superspeed Hub disappear if you disconnect the dock?
Thanks,
James

Hi,
This appears to be a hardware failure - you should ask your supplier for a replacement.
Thanks,
James

It seems, windows upgrade is causing hardware failure?! Why are other USB devices working seemlessly? Why this dock is fine with my another laptop with Windows 7 Prof? Is it joke?

OK - so this is new information to me.
So to clarify the current issue is that every time you connect the dock to your other laptop it works and and every time you connect it to your XPS only the dock's USB hub appears?

James

Yep, in details 3 new devices as you see on the screenshot; "Rodzajowy koncentrator USB" stands apparently for Generic USB in polish.
