View Full Version : Duplicate extended monitor

There seems to be every combination of extend and duplicate for three monitors except the one that I need. I'd like my laptop to be my primary monitor, with the desktop extended to 2/3. That is, 2 and 3 are clones (duplicates) of each other. The idea is that I can send the same thing I see on the DisplayLink monitor (which is my extended desktop) on the projector or big screen monitor that my VGA port is attached to. Am I missing something in the configuration that would allow me to do this? Thanks for any help.

Anyone have a solution for this yet? Would really like to get it to work the way I'd like if it's possible. Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, if I've understood correctly, you can use Windows Display settings to do this.
Open Display Settings by opening the Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.
In Display Settings select one of the displays you'd like to mirror and then select "Duplicate desktop on X and Y"
Here's a link to what I'm thinking of:

AH!! I figured it out thanks to looking at your picture. The resolution of the VGA was higher than the resolution of my DisplayLink monitor. Lowered the resolution and presto! The options to duplicate 2 and 3 suddenly popped up.
THANK YOU!
