I just reformatted my laptop and installed windows 8 pro went to the Targus website and install the DisplayLink_7.4_M2 (after I had tried to installDisplayLink_7.5M2 and received a response it was not compatible with he ACP71USZ), it did the normal install and reboot. immediately after reboot my laptop screen started flash with no response from the desktop monitor.

Attached is the report from the Displaylink Tool.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

That's odd as 7.5M2 is very much compatible with the ACP71.

Didn't see your attachment unfortunately.

Can you reply to this thread, select Manage Attachments from the Additional Options, navigate to the output of the support tool (http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269) and select Upload?

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Just a heads up, yesterday I spent a few hours working with Chad over at Targus. At the conclusion he had me do a firmware update from 0694 to 9084 at that point my laptop was unable to detect the Targus dock (in the Device Manager it would flash back and forth, there a second and then gone) . If you would like I can send you the transcript of the process of steps that he had me try.

When we concluded, he asked me to send him the support tool file that you see here.

Hi James,

just wanted to check in with you to see if there was any progress towards resolving my issue or if you needed anymore info from me.

Hi,

Can you confirm the model of Lenovo notebook that you have?

Thanks,
James

kddsuq,

I would try updating the USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller to version 6.3.9600.17031 dated 2/21/2014 from Microsoft.

This may be it but I actually suspect an incompatibility with the nViidia graphics. I am not sure what to suggest if that is at issue.

...Also, I am only advocating DisplayLink 7.4M2 as of today.
