Unknown device win7 64bit

I can't seem to get this e1659fwu portable usb monitor to work with my dell laptop N7110.

I would really appreciate some help on this as it's been almost 2 weeks since bought on amazon and need to know if I need to return it.

If it comes up as unknown device, then the hardware is not reporting itself properly on the USB bus. The logs show that we have never detected a DisplayLink device on the USB bus, so I suspect this is a hardware problem and it would be best to return the product.
