bought two ETEKCITY USB 3.0 to DVI adapters, one for each monitor. can only get one to work (extending to one from laptop). Want two monitors, one can mirror laptop and one can extend. does anyone know how to make this happen?

Hi,
What happens when you try and mirror to the other display?
I'd recommend checking out the user manual here:
http://downloads.displaylink.com/manuals/DisplayLinkUserManual7.6.pdf
If you're not having any luck please attach the output of this tool:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269
Once downloaded, please run it and select "Gather Support Information"
When you reply please select "Manage Attachments" from the "Additional Options" section below.
From there select Upload and navigate to the output of the tool which will be in a folder called "DisplayLink Support Files" on your desktop.
Thanks,
James

I can mirror or extend to only one monitor. I only see one monitor and one adapter loaded in the devices. Each monitor and each adapter does work, but only one at a time. Should there be two DisplayLink adapters and two monitors showing in Devices?

Here you go. Hope this helps clear this up. Again, I am trying to run two monitors off of my laptop. I bought one adapter for each monitor, but can only get one at a time to work. Each does work, but just not at the same time.

I purchased two USB 3.0 to DVI adapters so I could run two external monitors from my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. After many hours, it was determined that with Windows 8.1, the ability to run more than one monitor isn't supported.
Don't bother running the "tool" and sending in reports as nobody responds. Seems to be the norm from other comments I've seen.
