Windows driver update failure

Hi,

I got an "optional" update of the DisplayLink device driver through Windows Update. I selected it an ran Update, but the update failed. Here is are the complete details from update history. BTW I rebooted the machine and it didn't make a difference. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated!

Checking this error code on Google states that it is caused when trying to update the drivers for a device that is not currently connected:

I assume you tried this without the DisplayLink device connected, which is what caused the error?
