Installation failed Error 1603

I have uninstalled the software and re-installed and now get this message:

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: DisplayLink Graphics. Product Version: 7.0.42631.0. Product Language: 2057. Manufacturer: DisplayLink Corp.. Installation success or error status: 1603.
Software does nt appear to be installed in "Programs and features"

I am using an administrator account and have run a basic registry cleanup.
No improvement
Computer is Windows 7 Pro

Hi,

This could be a permissions issue.

In the registry, the Administrators group needs "Full Control" permissions on the DisplayLinkGA sub-key.

To check this select Run, enter regedit.exe, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\DisplayLinkGA and right click on the "DisplayLinkGA" and if present "Device1" keys. For both of these keys select "Permissions" from the resulting menu, select the "Administrators" group and make sure "Full Control" is allowed.
