Windows 8.1 - Install fails to start

Downloaded the latest version of the DisplayLink Windows software. Attempted to install software on a fresh Windows 8.1 install and the DisplayLink installer window flashes briefly and then closes.

Watching the temp files you can see where the installer attempts to extract the contents but then the files disappear. Nothing is ever installed.

We have attempted to install as an admin and with compatibility set to Windows 7 and nothing is working. Please help.

Note - This is a UEFI install.

What is a UEFI install? UEFI is the BIOS, so not sure how this is connected to installing our software.

I'm having exactly the same problem with my Dell M3800 laptop running windows 8.1. Did you ever find a solution on how to make the installer run?
