I am having issue upgrading to V7.8 M0. The install passes the DisplayLink System Compatibility Check but fails at the Upgrade portion. The error I receive is the following;

The software for DisplayLink Graphics is not supported on this operating system version. Please visit www.displaylink.com/software for an updated version.

Going to the page the error suggests just simply takes me to V7.8 M0. I've the graphics chard is up-to-date.

The error occurs on multiple different laptops.

DisplayLink_7.7M3 works just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeremy

I have got the same update problem with 7.8 , cannot update
using Dell D3100 and a MS surface pro 2 with windows 8.1 pro
all drivers are up to date except the display link one.

update-
I have sent the log to support, and Wim, the support staff told me to do the following -
It looks like powershell is disabled on your system. The powershell is used to determine the OS version. To enable powershell:

Run as administrator the following command C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powersh ell.exe
A console should appear, in the console type: Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

I have tried and does not seems to help. Also also, ExecutionPolicy restricted is windows default, it does not seems right to modify it to install a driver.

somehow I use another LOCAL account, which is not linked to any MS account. And then it installed successfully .
