I have had a Dell XPS12 with Dell D3000 docking station for just over 2 years. I use ethernet, DVI for connecting to a secondary monitor, and usb ports for printer and other misc, and audio out for headphones. I have had minor issues with disconnecting the machine from docking station, where it would not connect to video again- resolved this by always shutting down machine completely before I disconnected from docking station. I do not windows updates automatically installed, nor drivers or anything- I always have to approve.

I also have a coworker with the same setup. His ethernet port stopped working a few months ago, but his video (HDMI connection) was fine. He has been using wifi or an ethernet dongle.

Last week, right in the middle of using the machine, the secondary monitor screen went all hot pink. Ethernet was still working, as were usb ports. I messed with it a little, made sure everything was connected, and rebooted machine. Then ethernet wouldn't work either, nor the printer connected via usb. I have unistalled the software/drivers, reinstalled differnet versions. I have done all the troubleshooting I could find on this forum. I was able to connect a usb keyboard to the dock and it works, but my usb printer still does not work.

At one point my machine said the hardware connected via usb was malfunctioning, so I thought it might actually have gone bad. I borrowed my coworkers same dock and connected it to my machine, same issue. Tried my dock on his machine, same issue. He reconnected his own dock to his own machine, and now he has the same issue with his- no video, still no ethernet.

I connected a Lenovo thinkpad usb 3.0 dock, which also uses displaylink, and it all worked fine.

I ran the logging software and am attaching- once through without the advanced logging turned on, and once with it turned on.

Any help would be appreciated- this is super frustrating!
