I recently purchased USB 3.0 Dual Head Graphics Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. I installed the DisplayLink 7.9M2 and connected the device when prompted, and then let it reboot, the whole process went through with what looked like no errors, but when the system boots back up it says it doesn't recognize the display link in the devices.... it shows Unknown USB Device(set address failed) Driver error. I have tried two different usb3 slots and also uninstalled everything as directed in some of the other posts and reinstalled. This is all through the surface docking station.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks James,
I went through the steps, but still had the same end result. I did notice that the blue light was turning on and off on the device, which I hadn't noticed before. The blue light at the end is off and the device manager shows Unknown USB device (Port Reset Failed) under the USB Controllers.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi,
Do you have a USB 2.0 hub you can connect the adapter to?
If so please install 7.9 M2, connect the hub to the Surface Pro and connect the adapter to the hub. After you have done this once you can revert to connecting the adapter directly to the Surface Pro dock.
Thanks,
James
