Hi,
I did have a (rubbish) Fresco VGA adapter installed, however, I've done everything to remove the drivers as posted on various forums.
Until I've done this, my new Dell device won't install
Attached is a diagnostic performed earlier.
Please advise what's going on!
Thanks

Hi James,
Yes - I've been through all of that and didn't get anywhere.
The drivers are not installed, there is no service installed.
I've been through and removed anything in the registry to do with Fresco.
I've searched the hard drive for anything Fresco.
Still - there is something that is stopping the installation, hence I've run the diagnostic as others have done and attached the files to the original post.
any help appreciated - I really would prefer not to reinstall Windows 10!
Thanks

After spending a great deal of time looking at this, the simplest approach came to mind.
I reinstalled the Fresco drivers, and then uninstalled - problem solved ;)
The actual drivers were for the Thin2000 device - I downloaded the latest version from the FrescoLogic website and hey presto - all done.

I've read the FAQ about uninstalling Fresco drivers and followed the steps.
I've scanned the registry for "Fresco" & "FLx*".
I've scanned my file structure for "Fresco" & "FLx*".
I've deleted every trace of the Fresco drivers that I can find.
I've rebooted several times.
I've even reinstalled the Fresco driver and uninstalled it.
I've tried installing from the temp (DL2.tmp) dir to bypass the check.
DisplayLink install STILL won't install.
Diagnostic attached.
Relevant system info: Sony Vaio with two USB 3.0 ports, Win10, 20Gb free space, 8Gb RAM, Windows Defender.
PLEASE help.

Scarlin,
You have the Fresco service: FLxHCIv.
If bypassing our check was enough to make the software run, we would not do any check.
You can check the registry and should find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\FLxHCIv
You need to stop and delete it.
Open a command prompt as administrator. Being an admin does NOT automatically open an elevated command prompt, you must specify it.
Then run the following two commands
sc stop FLxHCIv
sc delete FLxHCIv
Alternatively, you can try reinstall and then remove Fresco to see if they uninstall their software properly that time.
Regards,
Alban
