Constant loss of monitor signal

Bought new dell xps 13 (Nov 2015). Tried connecting to 32" acer monitor using diamond BVU5500 adapter. Image on large monitor disconnected at random every few seconds and returned again or froze. Found many others with similar problem. Tried different monitors, cables, usb ports on laptop with no success - same symptoms every time.

Solution: Bought an Anker USB 3.0 hub that has its own power supply. connected the display adapter to the hub and now everything is working fine.
