Hello,
Can you please tell us what product you are using?
Also, I'm linking the FAQ to give us the log files for investigation (http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/544810-how-can-i-report-windows-installation-issues-to-di) as DisplayLink doesn't do any "transmitter" or "removal disks". That sounds like a wireless HDMI TV product from Diamond Multimedia. If that's the case, you also need to install their wireless USB drivers. The logs will bring a bit of clarity.
Regards,
Alban

the product IS a usb computer to TV / monitor device.

I did install the drivers Diamond Displaylink Video Stream driver VER 7.9M4

Sorry I failed to mention that step in my prior post

also some of the registry entries are difficult to remove due to permissions

am currently involved in removing permissions so that can delete entry

Hello,

This is being dealt with on a support ticket.
Installing DisplayLink drivers has no relation to the wireless USB part.
You MUST install Diamond Multimedia drivers for the wireless USB otherwise DisplayLink drivers cannot communicate with the computer. Logs showed the DisplayLink drivers were installed but Windows does not see any device connected.

DisplayLink is not involved in the wireless USB part of the Diamond Multimedia product, this is a Samsung Ultra Wide Band solution as the user guide highlights.
