Hi,

Title says it all really. Windows did an update and messed up my external monitors (they no longer switched on), so I checked your website and downloaded the latest drivers. This fixed the issue with the monitors, but now the "Asustek Ethernet" device no longer works and shows as having no drivers installed in Device Manager.

If I uninstall the displaylink software and use the cleaning utility, then reinstall some older drivers the ethernet works again but I keep get messages telling me to reboot. Updating to the latest software again gets rid of these messages but breaks the ethernet again.

I have run the debug utlity but do not want to post my system details on here, so please get in touch and I will send them directly.

For anyone who has this problem in the future, the solution (provided by Alban at DisplayLink UK) is:

Here is how to tell Windows which drivers to use when it doesn't do what it's supposed to:

1. Open Device Manager
2. Open Network adapters. If you cannot find it in this category, it may be under "Other devices"
3. Right click on the Ethernet entry for your device
4. Select Update Driver Software...
5. Select Browse my computer for driver software
6. Select Browse
7. Browse to "C:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software"
8. Select "Include subfolders"
9. Select Next

This worked perfectly for me and I'm up and running again. Thanks!
