Repost because the previous post seems to have glitched out and is no longer accessible.

New Asus MB169B+ monitor. Installed the displaylink manager v 8.0.903.0. However, the screen is black and does not display anything. The screen is on and backlit, and is recognized as a monitor, but is completely dysfunctional.

It seems that I can drag windows and such into the monitor's space, and it shows up https://puu.sh/sz01r/603ac0073e.png in device manager, but I can't seem to get it to actually display anything. Has the same behavior on my desktop as well.

Every time I plug it into my desktop after a restart it gives me http://i.imgur.com/ZfA7sL1.png

Looking at http://i.imgur.com/IcSMWzb.png , right clicking the monitor, and selecting properties gives this http://i.imgur.com/m9vZa7R.png

You should try the offical way to get support (http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/544810-how-can-i-report-windows-installation-issues-to-di). They do not watch all the threads closely.

Which OS and which build do you use?
Did you read the "Troubleshooting Windows" section? (http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/topics/78152-troubleshooting-windows)

I'm running a 168B+ with almost no issues (except non-functional hardware buttons with current drivers) - but only when running my notebook in the docking station.
When running my notebook outside the dock, I get a black (blank) screen when I try to attach my Lenovo USB display together with my 168B+. If I remember it correctly, the first attached USB display is fine, but the second will fail. Strange: I borrowed a second 168B+ and was able to run both monitors at the same time. Attaching only one display is fine. Connecting both using the docking station is also fine.
My conclusion: it seems like there are USB issues, depending on your configuration.

Hello Arx,

There are several versions installed at the same time.
The driver on Windows 10 Anniversary Update is unable to display a message about firmware update... yet.
The Asus app is crashing as it relies on a non existing infrastructure.

Please use our end user cleaner (http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/724494-cannot-upgrade-or-uninstall-displaylink-software) to remove the corrupted installation.
Then, simply plug in the monitor and it will take the USB device driver from Windows Update. Or you can use the generic software package available from our website.

Kind regards,
Alban
