View Full Version : Win10 8.2 M0 - Black window dims screen

This is a weird one. I was running the 8.2 Beta, it was fine. I just upgraded to the 8.2 M0 release. Now, if I open a window that is primarily black, like a command prompt, whichever screen that window is on dims noticeably. If I move the black window to another monitor, that monitor dims, and the previous monitor brightens to normal. The dimming and brightening happen slowly, over the span of 3-4 seconds.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello,
That's weird indeed. I don't see any code change which would warrant that.
Would you please be able to post a video of the phenomenon and the logs (see the 3rd link in my forum signature for step-by-step on how to do this) ?
Kind regards,
Alban

My apologies, it's a setting on my monitors called Dynamic Contrast. Turning it off makes everything happy again. Nothing to do with DisplayLink.

That's alright, thank you for closing the loop and posting your solution.
Kind regards,
Alban
