I am using a Diamond Multimedia docking station. Apple Multiport Adapter has USB, USB-C, and HDMI. I have HDMI going to one Dell monitor. I have USB going to docking station. From docking station, I have HDMI going to 2nd Dell monitor. If I just plug Macbook into adapter, I only get one screen. If I restart, I get two screens. Wondering why I have to restart to make this work.

This is the same setup I have at home, but I'm using the Anker USB 3.0 dual-display dock. For me, rebooting with the dock plugged in is actually hit or miss. My usual procedure is:
1. Boot
2. Wait until login screen (do not need to log in first)
3. Connect the Apple multiport adapter
Has worked for me every time.

Hi,
For these issues I'd recommend to open a bug at support.displaylink.com including the logs. The instructions are at http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301-how-to-report-macos-issues-to-displaylink
Usually the logs have good hints about issues happening during state transitions.
Kind regards,
Carlo
