View Full Version : Mirroring / High Sierra
I have some issues when I switch to mirroring mode.
- Open display setting and toggle "Mirror Displays" on
- Forced to log out
- Only display link monitor is on, main display is blank
- Log in
- Revert back to dual display mode
Any idea?

Hi,
This is a known operating system bug in High Sierra. We have investigated it and we don't think there is anything we can do about this issue apart from reporting it to Apple.
To raise the priority of this issue with Apple we suggest to open a bug with them on bugreporter.apple.com. If you don't have a developer account, then the normal support page offers other options: https://support.apple.com/macos
You may want to refer to our own bug on the topic (ID 33650324) and/or Apple's internal one (ID 26394372).
Best regards,
Carlo
Thank you, Carlo. I will send a bug report to Apple too.

I Have the same problem, it used to work on Sierra but logs out on High Sierra when trying to mirror. I also sent the bug to apple.
Looks resolved with macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update which is released today.
Thanks!

For me it still logs out when trying to mirror even after macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update...

Yes the mirror issue is still there. The only way to mirror currently is having a Mac with discrete graphics and making sure the discrete graphics is active (opening Photos for example).
We have to continue pushing for this to be resolved by Apple.

Hi Carlo,
Thanks for the trick !
Opening the photo app before enabling mirror mode is working great. I can live with that for now, the important for me was to have mirroring working as I use the second screen for presentations.

Carlo, is this still an active bug? I'm running High Sierra 10.13.1 and I'm still experiencing the mirroring issue others were experiencing.

Hi,
Yes this is very much active at least in DisplayLink. I'd much prefer for it to be very much active in Apple though: it's up to them to fix this. I'd suggest to ask for progress there as well as we are doing.
A workaround is proving quite difficult to find but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Can't make any promises though!
Kind regards
Carlo
