DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu 1.4 does not appear to work on Ubuntu 17.10.

I installed the driver successfully.
But my external monitor does not turn on after being plugged in:

The file generated by the DisplayLink Support Tool is attached.

Thank you for helping.

Hello vhp1

Thanks for contacting us with your problem.

1. Have you added a workaround for recent X problems as described in http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1181623-displaylink-ubuntu-driver-after-recent-x-upgrades [Workaround 2]? Please remember to reboot your computer after adding a conf file.
Did it resolve your problem? If not...

2. Does this problem still exists after logout/login or reboot your computer with device attached to it?

Waiting for your reply,
Adam

Hi Adam:

Thank you so much! The "Workaround 2" works!

It is surprising, because I tried the same workaround before starting this forum thread, and it did not work back then.

Tried both of the solutions on my Ubuntu 17.10 with no luck
