Hi,
On some systems, fairly recent X version is problematic with devices like DisplayLink's, i.e. you cannot add graphics devices dynamically, otherwise your screens can freeze after launching applications.
There is a workaround available for this in the 4.2 driver release. If you encounter this, please read:
