Hi guys,

We are happy to inform that a new release, DisplayLink Software for Ubuntu version 4.2 is out.

Changes include:

improved compatibility with newer kernel versions used in Ubuntu 17.10
better support for X server quirks present in version that fresh Ubuntu releases use
other bugfixes and improvements


Important notes:

If your screens freeze after launching applications, please see this article (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1843660-screen-freezes-after-opening-an-application-only) for workaround.

Older X versions can crash, freeze or make the system go to low graphics mode when modesetting driver is used with DisplayLink devices. If you see this, please follow this article (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1181623-displaylink-ubuntu-driver-after-recent-x-upgrades).
