Hey all,
I have a D6000 dock connected via USB-C to my Aero 15x v8.
Everything is working just fine except for the displayports on the dock. HDMI works just fine.
I'm not sure if this is a faulty dock or if it's some kind of compatibility issue with my monitors. I'm using Dell : S2716DGR monitors. I'm fully aware that getting 144hz and g-sync is kind of out of the question with these docks, but I would like SOME video at least. :) I also understand that I won't be able to power the PC due to the high power draw of the laptop.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Hi
Can you send the logs for this so we can see what resolution and refresh rate we are trying to set on DisplayPort?

I am experiencing the same problem.
Peripherals plugged into USB3.0, and monitors connected through HDMI, function appropriately through the D6000. The same monitors connected through Displayport do not function at all.
Log attached.
Monitors are ASUS PG279 (x2).
Edit: Monitors/cables work fine when connected directly to computer through displayport.
i got same issue after upgrade from 4.4 to 5.1 version now the monitor just get discon on displayport and on hdmi it works fine

I would advise giving more details as initially asked by my colleague.
The likely cause is you have an out of spec monitor, too out of spec for the chip to handle.
That ended up being the case of the first monitor mentioned.
Kind regards,
Alban
Alban - Can you please elaborate on what you mean by the spec being "too out of spec for the chip to handle"
Does this mean the VDU is too old and does not support the DisplayPort version of the D6000 output?
OR
Do you mean that the monitor may be faulty?
What is the minimum DisplayPort version the VDU must support to work with the D6000?

The docking station DisplayPort outputs are tested against DisplayPort 1.2, soon 1.4, as tests are updated.
I would like data to give pertinent feedback. For instance, the mentioned ASUS PG279 does not to respect the DisplayPort standard. We are looking into ways to be even more tolerant to out-of-spec monitors than we are today.

Hi all!
Having the exact same issue. I am trying to connect 2 dell s2417dg screens via DisplayPort on my newly purchased D6000 using a Dell Latitude 7390 through USB-C.
I even contacted Dell support and got a replacement D6000 after describing the issue - the problem still exists.
I find it very irritating that those products (all Dell, all newly purchased or less than 6 months old) don't work together. Is there any docking station out there that I can my screens on with Displayport?

Hi, having a nightmare getting these D6000 docks to correctly display to a Dell 7285 tabler via the USB C cable. All my drivers are the latest releases. The issue I get either when the tablet is restarted I do not get a display on the monitor without restarting the tablet again. Or on another 7285 tablet disconnecting the USB C cable, and reconnecting do not get a display on the monitor. But then if I disconnect and re-connect the USB C cable will then get a display.
Many thanks

Hello, DisplayLink Team.
Unfortunately, I have the same problem with D6000 dock station - HDMI connection works fine, but not DP. Could you please look at this logs (got it from current DisplayLink Support Tool for macOS) and help me with troubleshooting?

I am having the exact same issue. HDMI is the only port that looks to work on my recently purchased D6000. I can connect my XPS13 directly to a U4919DW via USB-C without issue, confirming the D6000 is the problem.

Latitude 5500, D6000. This morning I came into work-- I have the same problem with D6000 dock station - HDMI connection works fine, but not DP, but it did work for ~3 months, then stopped working today. For me the Ethernet stopped working from the D6000 too.
When I switched in another D6000, everything worked. So the Dock must be the problem.
Updated D6000 to latest software, updated drivers, checked cabling, etc. no luck.
Maybe the D6000 needs replacement? I can't understand what would have caused it to stop working...

Hello Kuthu, whocares, denis.schlesinger and Andrew Sporaw,
From analysis, it looks like the monitors you are using were too far out of the spec to have the DisplayPort link train properly.
We believe we have found a way to make these display work without breaking the other millions users.
We are preparing a development build before a formal release.
Would anyone of you be interested in getting that development build privately as soon as it becomes available?
I will move other comments into a different thread as they don't seem relevant to the original poster report.
Kind regards,
Alban

Hello,
[...EDIT...]
The workaround for these displays was delivered in v9.3 early December.
EDIT: please use the latest driver available (https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/windows).
Kind regards,
Alban
