View Full Version : Ubuntu 18.04 and Dell Inspiron 15-5577, Dell D3100 Not working

I tried to install the DisplayLink USB application v4.2 on Ubuntu 18.04, installation runs smoothly.
Status of the device after installation.
- Two monitor connected to DL device not working
- No sound
- Keyboard and mouse working
I run the "lsusb -d 17e9:" command it list the DL devices.
I attached the output file of the DLTools.
Kindly help.

Hi lovemenot, Just curious if you had made any headway on this? Having a similar issue.
Using the Nouveau driver I can login with my Dell hub connect. Keyboard and mouse work and monitors work except the max resolution is not being detected. It defaults to 640x480.
Using the Nvidia drivers it flat out fails to loging. Appears to crash right back to the login screen.

Totally not working. I re-install the OS using UBUNTU 17 and working right now, waiting for the latest driver compatible to UBUNTU 18.

For the problems you're seeing with X using nouveau, can you check if this helps?
