Hello!

Ubuntu 18.04 is no surprise, and it's been a month since it's release.

Is DisplayLink going to release a driver update to support it? If so, when?

Thanks!

I've just upgraded from 16.04 -> 18.04.

The DisplayLink 3000 worked fine on 16.04.

It isn't working for me on 18.04, so I'd look forward to a new driver.

(FWIW, I see the light when I connect the UGA-3000, but I see nothing on the monitor. I've tried the monitor with a direct HDMI connection, so I know the monitor is fine.)

Assuming you're using NVIDIA GPUs, can you check if the following workaround helps?

Hi Michal,

I'm using 18.04 on a System76 Linux laptop with an Intel GPU: https://system76.com/laptops/kudu

You can see the issue I'm running into here:

https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/129

Why isn't it working and when will it be fixed?

I've also just upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 and am hoping for an updated driver.

I notice that with 4.2 things mostly work, but the EDID that's passed through my USB-connected dock is limited to 1600x1200 for some reason.

Yes, I am also looking forward to the 18.04 drivers. My external display is recognized but I cannot enable it. I'm directly connected to my laptop with HDMI so I know it works, but I would like to have my 2 displays going! Keyboard, mouse, and network all function properly.

I looked at the NVIDIA article you posted Michal, it does not apply to the issue I'm experiencing.

Hi -- Like others, I'm in the same boat. I've used your drivers for several years with 16.04 with lots of success. I hope solid 18.04 support is on your roadmap.

Sincerely,
Dan
