Hi,

Does DisplayLink plan to port his driver for Windows 10 IOT?

Hello,

We have issued DisplayLink driver for ARM64, Intel x86 and AMD x64 architectures for most current Windows 10 SKUs.
For them to work, we need the proper foundation to be available from the OS. The last time we looked, IoT Core flavour was missing at least 2 key areas.

Supporting a new architecture or OS has an important cost. At this stage, I haven't receive enough interest to make investing in it a priority.

Kind regards,
Alban

Fast forward a year and a half from when this question was first asked, have there been any changes to support for Windows 10 IOT Core?

Are there still 2 key missing pieces from the OS or have those been addressed?

Thanks!

Hello Matthew,

Yes, we believe we can do the work now.
It is scheduled without a firm deadline as you're the first one to ask since my last post.
Is that for something professional/industrial or for more a home project?

Kind regards,
Alban

This would for a professional application. This would enable a nice feature for our users, sales team, and field deployment teams.

Would like to hear more about it when you all are ready to share.

Thanks!

I have been using a Plugable USB video adapter since 2013 to support a 3 monitor setup (2 native video outputs + the Plugable). The company I work for has been issuing HP Windows 10 IoT based Thin Clients for a while but the process has accelerated with the COVID crisis. I took my trusty old Plugable home but unfortunately it doesn't work on the Thin Client. I'd love to see a DisplayLink IoT driver to increase my productivity at home. Thank you and stay safe!

Hello NocTester,

Such a driver is on our roadmap. There are different flavours of Windows IoT and a huge range of computing power available on them.
Would you mind sharing brand and models? It might be useful for us to buy it for developments.
Thank you for expressing interest, as it is otherwise difficult for me to justify doing the work.

Kind regards,
Alban

Hello,
We make Tablet Monitors using Displaylink and we have customers with various models of Win 10 IoT Enterprise that we haven't been able to support with our tablet monitor. A popular one is the Dell Wyse 5070. Is it supported and if so how can I install it?

Hi Mike,
The current driver works on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. We know that driver is embedded in the conference room computers to drive additional displays.
We don't test on these thin clients so there might be issues, but it's not a OS restriction in itself.

Do you have installation problems?
We have EXE, MSI and INF drivers available. All should work for IoT Enterprise but you might prefer the last two available in the corp deployment section of the website (https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads/corporate).

If you've got installation or other issues, please feel encouraged to reach out to our tech support: technical-enquiries@synaptics.com

Alban
