Hi,

I am really new to Ubuntu and I would like to extend my laptop to two monitors.

I followed the commands in this link (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/684649-how-to-install-displaylink-software-on-ubuntu) to install but failed as "screen1.jpg" in the attachments.

Using the hints in the error, I got logs as "screen2.jpg" and "screen3.jpg". I also attached the log generated by the support tool -- "mu001143611_2018-08-10T11:18:52.524635.zip"

Using command "lsusb -d 17e9:", I can see one device connected - "Bus 002 Device 003: ID 17e9:6006 DisplayLink", but there's no response on both monitors.

Really appreciate if anyone could help in this issue.

Regards,
Snow

Looks like you have secure boot enabled, and (unsigned) evdi kernel module cannot be loaded.

Cheers,
Michal

Hi Michal,

Thank you very much for your hints. It turns out that I have the wrong port connected (really stupid mistakes that I injected the USB embedded with thunderbolt), but I also disabled the secure boot. After upgraded the thunderbolt driver automatically, things work really well now. So I am not sure if the "secure boot" issue actually helps or not.

But anyway, thank you again for the message :)

Snow
