Duplicate wont work but Extend does

Hi

I am trying to get an Asus 168b USB monitor running in Duplicate mode and it won't work.

If I select "Extend" or "Second Screen Only" it works fine .

It does not make sense, why should it not work when the other two windows settings work flawlessly

I am using Windows 10 with latest downloaded Display link drivers

any ideas on where the problem is
