Hi all,

I have a Surface Pro 4 running a Dell D6000 on USB-C, apparently to use the third screen you have to use Alt mode on the 3rd output (HDMI), however I am unable to find this setting and I really need the third screen operational so I can disable the Surface Pro screen as it get's to hot.

I previously used a Dell D3100 and that worked perfectly with all 3 screens.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Hello Charlie,

Can you confirm which port of the Surface Pro 4 is USB-C?
From what I can see online, there's only the Type-A port.

The Dell D3100 has 3 outputs powered with DisplayLink technology, with up to a single 4Kp30 and 2x1080p.
The Dell D6000 has 2 outputs powered with DisplayLink technology (2x4Kp60) and 1 with USB Alternate-Mode DisplayPort over USB-C plug only (4Kp30), and USB-C plugged in directly to the computer.

Kind regards,
Alban
