Hello all,

I'm running a MBP 2012 Mojave with a Diamond USB 3.0 adaptor, I'm noticing CPU usage from the DisplayLink software/driver up to a whopping 30% in my activity monitor.

I'm running Logic Pro and always assumed I was maxing out my CPU due to my internal software plugins that are CPU intensive. Very surprised to see this, as I'm up to date with the DisplayLink drivers. This issue was also a problem in El Capitan. This is also a problem I've seen described since 2016.

I've ditched my external display for now

Sorry if this has been posted about recently.

same here:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
maOS Catalina 10.15.5

com.displaylink.DisplayLinkDriver
Version: 5.2.4 (82)

DELL UNIVERSAL DOCK - D6000

killing the process seems to be a work around

Hovering at 90% over here.

Saw posts/replies from 2016 sayin this was a beta issue that would be resolved. Now we're in 2020 and still no fix? Absolutely ridiculous. I'm legitimately considering just using one monitor from my Mac's dedicated port rather than this broken software, which basically renders itself useless.

The whole point of having multiple monitors is productivity, which is completely negated by a CPU with no headroom.

Fix your software DisplayLink...If you can't, you shouldn't market yourself as a solution to this problem.

Running 10.15.6 on Mac with latest DisplayLink software.

CPU running at 80% and it is really annoying.

Need a solution to reduce the CPU asap.
