Cannot rotate with xrandr

I am using a portable monitor ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC. This monitor can be connected directly to USB-C, or, using DisplayLink, to USB-A.
With DisplayLink, With xrandr --rotate left it stays horizontal, but taking only half of the width.

In https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/641668-known-issues-with-displaylink-ubuntu-support they say rotation does not work and is a known limitation
