Installed beta software and followed install procedures (including Privacy/screen recording switch) and Dell 3100 not activated. Catalina software seems to recognize that a display (Viewsonic via Dell 3100) is connected, but display does no light up.

Installed driver 5.1.1 and that works fine. That's all the troubleshooting I am able to do while I am at work.

Thanks for your response. The first link (boot into Recovery mode and run the kextcache) seems to have done the trick. I think this needs to be smoother for the average user, though.

Please upgrade your macOS to very recent Catalina 10.15.1
Together with DisplayLink driver 5.2.1 beta 3 all major issues should gone.
