Hi,
I have a 2014 Mac Mini with 3 FullHD displays attached (HDMI, DP and one attached via Dual Display USB3 adapter using the HDMI). Mac OS is upgraded to 10.15.1.
The DisplayLink connected display mirrors the contents of the HDMI display but the mouse behaves like it is on an extended display (I can move the mouse across the screen like on an extended display and wiggle it to make the mouse pointer bigger). Mac OS even opens programs on the "extended" display that can't be seen or used.
The kext (5.2.54) is loaded, DisplayLinkUserAgent has permissions in Screen Recording and Accessibility (Bedienungshilfen).
I tried:
I reinstalled the 5.2.1b3 DisplayLink drivers.
I downgraded them to 5.1.1 (and reinstalled 5.2.1b3 after the display didn't even start).
I started recovery mode and rebuilt the system cache.
Nothing helped.
Best

Hi,
I have exactly the same issue with the following setup and 5.2.1 Beta 3:
MBP mid 2015
- Internal Display
- Two external FHD Displays connected via Display Link Docking Station
I uninstalled Beta 3 and went back to Beta 2. With Beta 2 the error is not existing in my envirnoment.
Best Regards,
Andreas Klausing

I was analyzing your logs, but all looks fine.
Can you test yours setup with 5.2.1 beta 2 as aklausing did?
That would help me to identify the problem.
You can download it from here:

Here is the log file.
Can you also submit output of command:
ioreg -l > ioreg.txt
I would really appreciate that :)

Hi Andreas,
Beta 2 did the trick. All displays are working again.
Thank you!
Thank you too, lspintzyk!

I'm having a similar issue. I've updated to Mac 10.15.1 and Beta 2 but my monitors aren't working. USB ports on dock are dorking just fine

It appears that this issue has returned for 10.15.2 - same symptoms of mouse can access across both displays, but image is mirror of display #1.
Spec:
- iMac 14,2
- HP USB 2.0 Docking Station (HP HSTNN-S02X)
- Driver 5.2.1 release
However, I did the cheeky thing of finding the "DisplayLink Manager" alpha 0.1 and it works perfectly!
As I can't see it mentioned/linked elsewhere - i wont link it.

I have the same issue on Mac 10.15.3 (mouse moving as extended, but actually mirroring).
Display driver 5.2.4
Solution: I downgraded to 5.2.1 and problem was resolved.

I am having the same issues - mouse moving as extended between the external displays, but imag is
mirroring.
my setup:
- MacBookPro 2019 (16") on MacOS Catalina 10.15.6
- Internal display
- 2x Lenovo external displays (LEN T23i-10) connected via StarTech USB hub (USB3DOCKH2DP)
- DisplayLink Driver 5.2.4 (82) installed.

I tried to un-install and install 5.2.1 of DisplayLink Driver - but it failed on MacOS 10.15.6 saying that its incompatible.
Since this is a company-managed device I cannot rollback to MacOS to 10.15.5.
.. so now I am stuck with DisplayLink Manager App 1.0.0 with no clamshell mode. :( :(

Hi there,
I am always trying to figure things out on my own and troubleshoot, but I'm no expert, and I am absolutely stuck.
Macbook Air 10.15.6 Catalina
I had Display Link 5.2.4, but when my Mac automatically downloaded Catalina, I experienced the same mirroring/extension problem as y'all. At first I thought it was the Screen Recording Permission or the kext, but both of those were fine.
Then I read on this forum that someone simply reinstalled 5.2.1 and the problem went away. I just tried that, but now I have more problems than I did with 5.2.4. Now my monitors are not receiving any signal at all. Plus, now the DisplayLink kext is NOT loaded.
So I tried to follow the steps to load it, but I do not get the dialogue box saying it has been blocked.
So I follow the next steps saying to go to System Preferences > Privacy > General and there I should find an alert that the Display Link extension has been blocked and I am to click "allow." It is not there. There is no alert saying that the extension has been blocked.
Some of you are mentioning Beta 2 and logs. I am not an expert and I am at my wits' end. Can you please help me get my double screens extended again (not mirroring)?
Please help a teacher not lose her mind? Thank you!

I am also having the display clone issue post 10.15.6 update. I tried installing 5.2.4 which clones the displays. I tried rolling back to 5.2.1 and I get the 'DisplayLinkDriver.kext' is not compatible with this version of macOS error after install.
