Hi,
I've a docking station.
I've connected my lg tv to the docking station via hdmi cable.
Docking station is connected to asus laptop.

I can display my PC screen via the TV,
I can not see the LG TV as a playback device and I can use the TV speaker,
even if I look deep in audio playback devices of windows 10 - Not there.
If I connect the HDMI cable directly to the laptop - I can see the LG TV as a playback device and get audio from the TV.
It's strange, because in the past it worked,
It stopped working since I replaced the HDMI cable to longer one - since then it's not working.

I've a 20 meters HDMI cable

Is it a problem?

I remind that the TV audio works perfectly when the HDMI is connected directly to the laptop and TV.

Hi,

The length of the new cable should be okay.
When you are connected through the dock to the TV do you see the TV showing in the Sound settings -> Output devices? Or does it not show at all?

Best regards,
Katarzyna

It is not showing.

The LG-TV audio device shows and works properly only if I connect the HDMI directly to the laptop from the LG TV.

If I connect the hdmi cable to the docking station then I won't see the LG-TV audio as a playback device at all, even if I enable and display the disables devices.

(windows 10 / Laptop asus)

Could you please paste the playback settings screenshot when everything is connected as you wish it to work?
Also, can you tell what is connected on which plugs on the dock?

Thank you,

Hello,

Please for now disable low power management for your USB driver. To do that:

Go to Start Menu and search for Power & Sleep settings
Then on the right side go to Additional Power Settings.
Again on the right side select Change Plan Settings
Expand USB settings -> USB selective suspend setting here you can select from the drop down disable.

Test if you are able to select the LG TV as your audio device.

Thank you,
Katarzyna

Hello,

This is not a usual hardware behavior therefore we do not have a list of troubleshooting steps that I can provide you with. I had to investigate and based on the result of one test we can suggest another step.

In your case I see that the problem may lie within the speakers that are connected to the docking station. Please un-plug the speakers and check if you can get the HDMI audio working.

The configuration that has been created for your docking station has headphone privacy - which means that if there is anything plugged into the analogue audio output it will mute all of the other outputs.

Best regards,
Katarzyna

thank you very much. I will try.

i Would suggest using a different cable. if thats not the problem perhaps you need to reinstall the driver. if thats not the problem maybe your tv is configured to have audio input from other source (and not hdmi) and if that does not work im out of ideas !
