Hi DisplayLink,

It would be great if you could take a look at this thread.

Many of your users are not able to rotate their screens, and new driver 1.2 does not seem to work as promised.

The only way to get screen rotation to work is to downgrade to 5.2.5 (which I had to do twice - once after each OS update).

I didn't want to start a new thread given all the information already in this old thread:

Thanks,
Xavier

Should screen rotation now also work with DisplayLinkManager 1.2 on Catalina?

At least for me it's not and the old legacy driver somehow seems to be slower than DisplayLinkManager:(

The release notes say that rotation doesn't work on M1 Macs

This is a big shame - I am just about to click buy on an M1 Mac and would like to use an external display (next to my 32" dell 4k) in portrait mode for editing documents. Might have to wait or rethink options.

How many external displays are you trying to run, do you want them all portrait? ** I love my M1 Air. ** I have two 32 inch displays and actually thought I wanted them portrait. I tested this with my work Mac a 2017 15 inch Pro and decided it was too damn tall with 32s and went back to landscape.

That said with any displaylink chipset based hub like a Targus 180US you will have power, usb ports, ethernet, etc. all coming through 1 connection to your M1, leaving you with a free port that can natively handle 1 external display that will be able to be run in portrait mode.

For your info, release 1.6 seems to have fixed my problem

i've installed the new release on dec 22 and i haven't had the problems mentioned above in the past two weeks.
