Anyone have any idea on how to correct the issue? I updated to MacOS11.3 on my M1 MBP and no no longer can get my second monitor. It appears the Kernal Extension is no longer there. I Tried reinstalling and rebooting, but that didn't work either. Am I just SOL?

I am having the same issue, although I am trying to set up my DisplayLink docking station for the first time today.

I have the following Pluggable docking station: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264830205532

I am using DisplayLink Manager 1.3.0 (Build 56.111)

My computer is a 13" Apple M1 Macbook Pro (2020), running on Big Sur 11.3

I have (2) HP VH420a monitors, both utilizing an HDMI connection

I have hooked everything up, and my second monitor is not being recognized. Pretty big bummer after dropping $172 on my docking station.

Anybody know what I can do to fix this?

There are important steps that need to be completed after installing the DisplayLink Manager Application in macOS, the most important of which is to manually start the application (it does not start automatically after the initial install) followed closely by making sure that the necessary permissions have been set within the macOS Security & Privacy settings.

Plugable has a detailed installation guide here --> https://kb.plugable.com/799275

If the steps in the guide do not help, you may want to reach out to Plugable directly for assistance --> https://plugable.com/pages/support

the current Display Link driver does not work with BigSur 11.3. I received an email that they are working on a new driver for this. It's not available as of now. I have the same setup as you but have had it working fine until the 11.3 update.

Update: I got it to work! I was using the white USB-C cable provided by Apple to connect from the docking station to my Macbook. The Apple white USB-C charging cable does not support USB 3.0 data or USB-C DisplayPort video. All I did was swap out that cable with the USB-C cable provided with the docking station, and my dual monitor setup is now working!

Is it working with resolution greater than 1920 x 1080? I never lost the use of the monitor but I have lost 4k resolution.

4K is broken on 11.3. I needed to downgrade to 11.2.3 to make it work again :(

For me downgrade is not an option.

I use a resolution switcher (RDM - https://github.com/avibrazil/RDM) which gives me a workaround for the missing resolutions (but no HiDPI > 1080).

Works fine on a MacBook Air M1 with LG 4k Monitor connected via DisplayLink Dock.

Does the switcher work on an M1 running 11.3? Or will I still have the same issue because the DisplayLink Driver is not working on 11.3? Any help is appreciated.
