Dell U3419W monitor not detected

Hi,

I've been using Dell U3419W curved monitor for a while now but I wasn't able to use features offered by displaylink as it has never detected the monitor.

My monitor is connected with my Mac Book pro Catalina via USB-C.

Note: displaylink pop-up attached for your reference.

Thank you for reaching out!

If you are connecting the monitor directly via USB-C to your computer or a docking station then DisplayLink does not support such setups.
DisplayLink will only work with devices using DisplayLink technology (meaning - ones that have DisplayLink chip built into it). This monitor does not use DisplayLink technology therefore it will not communicate with DisplayLink driver. Also we do not support USB-C monitors (unless they are using DisplayLink technology).

That explains it, so are you saying that Dell wide curved monitor cannot act as multiple monitor? does dell supports any other software for supporting multi-monitor over usb-c?

this really kills the whole idea of having dell wide curved monitor :(

I believe that it would be best to reach out to Dell directly for more information about this monitor and other possible options. I do not have enough information about their products.
