Primary monitor selection

I'm using DisplayLink with Big Sur on an Intel Mac.

As we know, Clamshell mode isn't supported with that support.

I'd be fine with that, except that most new windows, notifications, etc, appear on the laptop screen. Is there any way I can select one of my external monitors as the primary display, so that notifications etc appear there rather than on the laptop screen?
