My DisplayLink Docking Station 3100 will disconnect about 3 times during my working day.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B078WVWSXN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My current setup is
x1 HDMI
x1 DPI
x1 USB 3.0 port used for HDMI -> USB convertor
x1 USB 3.0 port used for headset
x1 Network port
Mouse & Keyboard are both bluetooth directly to laptop

When the disconnects happy I lose all 3 screens and my network connection. I've also tried an additional laptop and hit the same issue so it is related docking station at fault.

I've updated the BIOS driver on the Dell 7610 10 & the x2 Display Link drivers below:-
DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows10.2 M2-EXE
DisplayLink-Dock-Driver_FF21H_WIN_10.1.2814.0_A04

Can you advise if there is anything else I can do or do I need to return it?
I work from home so losing the network connection when I'm on a call is frustrating.

Hello,

First please try to swap the USB cable that goes from the dock to the computer with a new/different one and check if the issue persists.

Hello,
thanks for reply. It looks like the USB cable from docking station to laptop is propriety. I don't have a spare so will have to return the product.

Hello,

The connector shown in your photo is a USB 'Type-B' connector. This connector is not proprietary. More information is here --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hardware

According to the Dell D3100 user manual --> https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics/esuprt_docking_stations/dell-usb3-dock-3100_user's%20guide_en-us.pdf Dell includes a USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-B cable in the box with the dock.

The 'Type-A' connector is the end that connects to the host computer, and the 'Type-B' connector is the end that connects to the dock.

An example of a 3rd-party replacement cable would be this one --> https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00C7RUWCU/
