DisplayLink software stopping monitors on Dell branded docking station

The DisplayLink software for Windows is working with the VT8000 docking station. Recently the user was traveling and plugged into a Dell branded docking station and the monitors would not work until the DisplayLink software was uninstalled and the laptop restarted. Please advise a way to disable the software without having to uninstall/reinstall while traveling.

This is not a typical behavior as traveling should not cause this kind of issue. Is the issue reproducable or was it a one time thing?
