Energy Saver Mode doesn't work

I have a MacPro running Monteray and using Displaylink 1.8.1 for dual monitors (samsung C27f390 & S24E450) and the Energy Saver Mode doesn't work

I've turned it on but it doesn't kick in, just the screen saver.

any ideas?
