View Full Version : DisplayLink isn't detecting my monitors in Mac sonama 14.5 version
I am using 2 monitors connected to usb c docker with one HDMI cable and the other one with VGA cable. My downloaded version of display link is the latest one which supports sonama version 14 or to be precise I am using display link 1.10.2 version. I have given all access to DisplayLink(like screen recording access in privacy & security). Whenever I am connecting to monitor with displaylink running those monitor mirror itself and there is only one monitor detected in display settings.
And DisplayLink is just showing: Please allow your DisplayLink device to connect to this Mac. After connecting accessory to this Mac via USB, a system promt will appear. Please click "Allow" to ensure the device is working properly.

I"m having same issue did you ever resolve? I have installed the display link, I did the privacy action and my result two black screens nothing. 2023 Mac Sonoma 14.5. I have the computer connected to correct spot at back and I've placed the monitor cords in the designated 1 and 2 slots at the back as well. I'm using this model: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CP8Z2D83?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Did you find a resolution I seem to have same operation as you. I have the display link installed, I have the privacy set, I have the plug of computer to back of machine and neither of the two monitors are working and I have them in correct slots at back in monitor one and two spaces. I can't even get one monitor to work. Having to revert to the one monitor on my much cheaper extender. Is it really just a dream to have two monitors on a mac

I am having the same issue on my work and personal mac. Both M3 Max. Both on 14.6.1. Personal one was on 14.4 and was not working with it either. Hopefully this will get figured out soon!
Both are running 1.10.2 of display link manager.

I guess everyone above 14 sonama is facing this issue. We need an updated version of this app

I have 3 Dell external monitors on my Dell dock station (WD22TB4), 2 of them by display port cable and one by HDMI cable.
My Macbook (M3 Max) only recognizes one and mirror the same image to all of them.
The Dock Station is connected to the computer via Thunderbolt 4.
I have already allowed Screen Recording Permission but still have this problem.

The product you are using does NOT have DisplayLink technology inside of it. As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to assist you.
Based on your description, the adapter has a DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (DP MST) Hub inside of it. Macs do NOT support DP MST, which is why the displays are being mirrored.

I am now having issues with my current set-up:
- 2 HP Monitors
- Dell USB3.0 dock D3100
- Macbook Air 2020 M1
The above was working perfect for 3 years. I could use all three screens (not mirrored) - it was great! It was working perfect last night and when I tried to work on my computer today, the monitors were not connecting. I tried restarting my computer, shutting down my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled DisplayLink, unplugging from power source, unplugging all cords, updated to the newest DisplayLink software and my computer to MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1, etc. but nothing is fixing this issue. When I click the Displaylink icon at the top of my laptop toolbar (which indicates that Displaylink is launched/on), I am now seeing a message I haven't seen before "please allow your Displaylink device to connect to this Mac. After connecting accessory to his Mac a USB, a system prompt will appear. Please click "Allow" ensure device working properly." However, I do not get a system prompt that appears on my screen to press said "Allow" button.
I'm hoping I am able to figure this out asap and will let y'all know if I do. In the meantime, I am hoping that someone else has resolved this issue and can share! Thanks!

Same issue here. Setup working fine before, it seems after update to Sonoma 14.6.1, my entire Display link setup just stopped working the next day. The dock's usb ports work but my monitors do not get detected. Displaylink says "No Displaylink enabled display detected."
Macbook Air M1 2020
Sonoma 14.6.1
DisplayLink Manager 1.10.3
Dell D6000 Dock + 3 external monitors
I even used windows computer to update my dock firmware to no avail.
Any help here is great appreciated.

I received the following answer from support and it solved my issue:
In the logfiles I do not see any DisplayLink powered devices detected as connected to the computer. They are not showing under the USB bus.
If the device was not connected please connect it and gather the logfiles one more time. We require up-to-date feedback from the device therefore it must be connected when collecting the logfiles.
If however the device was connected please re-plug it and make sure that it does show under the USB bus before collecting the logfiles once more.
If your device does not work, the first thing to check is that the DisplayLink device has been detected by OS X. This can be done by checking that the DisplayLink device appears in the System report. To do this:
Choose "About this Mac" from the Apple menu on the top left corner of your main screen
Click on "More Info..."
On Lion and later: click on "System Report…"
The System Information application will open
Select the USB information from the Hardware category
Note: The description could be different depending on the brand and model of the device you are working with.
In the USB devices list, locate the DisplayLink device. The Vendor ID has to show DisplayLink (UK) Ltd. if the device is using DisplayLink technology.
If no devices are shown, then follow the steps below to try and make the device appear in device manager.
Important: Please ensure that your docking station or video adapter are DisplayLink powered and have DisplayLink chip built into it. You should be able to see a sticker with DisplayLink logo on the product. You should also see instructions in the user manual or on the manufacturers website to download and install DisplayLink software.
Unplug all cables from the device - including power. Wait for around 30 seconds up to a minute and reconnect power (if needed) and all connect all your peripherals as well.
Please make sure that the USB cable connecting the computer and your DisplayLink-powered device is connected to the correct USB port in the in the DisplayLink-powered device. Some devices have fixed cable but many docking stations have detachable USB cable. Please check your docking station for USB ports with computer icon next to it or ones that are signed 'Computer'. If there is no such information, please refer to the user guide to make sure.
Check the USB port with another device to make sure other devices are recognised.
Check that the USB cable works with other devices.
If using a Wireless USB product, ensure the wireless USB drivers are installed separately. The wireless USB link is not part of the DisplayLink technology and will need separate drivers to be installed.
If using a USB bus powered device, make sure that the device is connected to an externally powered USB hub (the hub has a USB cable and a power supply connected to it). This will ensure that the device an receive enough power from the USB bus.
Try the adapter on another computer.
If it still does not appear in the system report then you should contact the original manufacturer, not DisplayLink, to discuss a hardware support or replacement of the product.

Hey everyone,
I have encountered the same problem on my MacBook Air with Sonoma 14.6.1.
I have tried restarting, and plugging on/off (also from power with one minute pause).
Nothing helped, so I tried to connect the docking station to my second USB port (I never used that port). After plugging, I was asked if I wanted to allow a connected accessory and it started working again.
Maybe this will help someone.
