Hi,
I wonder if this drives anyone else crazy. I cannot search the forum because 'G4' and 'HP' are too short apparently.

I bought a MacBook Air (M3). I am hoping one of the docks I already own can be used with it. This HP dock has such a generic name on the label; on the HP website, the item shown looks nothing like mine.

Mine has part number L13898-002.https://www.amazon.com/HP-USB-C-Dock-Chromebook-Elitebook/dp/B079SBBC1B

Will it be compatible with dual monitors?

Thanks!

A quick Google suggests that this is the dock you are considering --> https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/details/hp-usb-c-docking-station/model/20092244?sku=3FF69UT

According to the information on HP's support site, this dock does NOT have DisplayLink technology inside of it.

Given the description, I would suspect that the dock has a DisplayPort Multi-Stream hub (aka DP MST) inside of it.

Macs do NOT support DP MST, so this dock would NOT work with your Mac.

DisplayLink has a list of products which use DisplayLink technology here --> https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/displaylink-products
