Issue experienced on multiple macs in 2 different environments (with no unusual configuration), over 3 different vendors of dock, running 15.2 - 15.4.
Driver: Release: 1.12.1 | Mar 27, 2025

Upon undocking, the macs are regularly left with a "phantom" screen, which can't be disabled by toggling Detect Display etc. A restart of either the mac or displayLink driver clears this.

The display appears functional to the mac, with windows remaining on the disconnected display. Upon reconnection of the same display, N+1 displays exist, with both the connected display(s), and the phantom one left from the last docking.

If you have not done so already, I would suggest reporting the issue to DisplayLink directly by following the process outlined here --> https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301-how-to-report-macos-issues-to-displaylink

Having the exact same issue. I undock multiple times per day to attend meetings and constantly have to quit the software so my apps are accessible.
