View Full Version : Lenovo H500s, Ubuntu 24.04, no MOK prompt

Hello,

I have a Lenovo H500s desktop dual-booting Windows 10 and Ubuntu 24.04.02 LTS, and a Dell D3100 docking station. UEFI Secure Boot is enabled.

On Windows, I have installed the latest DisplayLink driver package from the Synaptics site, and the additional display on the dock works perfectly. I did not disable Secure Boot to do this.

On Ubuntu, I have installed the latest driver package using the Synaptics APT repository method. During installation I am prompted to create the one-time password for MOK enrolment, but when I reboot I do not get prompted to enter the password, and the display connected to the dock does not work. If I disable Secure Boot, the dock works fine in Ubuntu. Re-enable it, and it stops working.

I have tried also using the standalone installer, with the same result.

I also have an HP laptop dual booting Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.04.02, with Secure Boot enabled. On that machine both the Windows and Ubuntu driver installs work fine, I did get prompted for the MOK password on first reboot, and I did not need to disable Secure Boot.

I suspect my problem lies in the UEFI implementation on the old (but “latest” version) Lenovo, but am asking here if I have missed anything obvious?

Thanks
Andrew
