View Full Version : problem after firmware update for HP USB-C Universal Dock G2

Dear Support Team,

I am using Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS and the newest displaylink-driver v6.2.0

Since October I can no longer use my second monitor (Monitor name: LEN-27IKL-A / Serial No: LM270WQ4SSB3) with its full WQHD*resolution of 2560x1440.
It seems to me that the firmware of the “HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2” somehow no longer recognizes it properly.
In attached DLSupportTool_Output_20251103_1438.zip (in the file xorg-user/Xorg.0.log.old) you will find the modprobe lines, but in the file machine_info.txt you can not see them (below DVI-I-1-1).
In the Settings App the Vendor is no longer Lenovo but DLOGIC Ltd, why?
I also included two configuration files: monitors.xml (actually generated from the Settings App) and gdm3monitors.xml (from the time before October).
Is it possible to restore the situation to how it was before October? From the fresh installation of Ubuntu 24.04 in 2024 until September 2025, I had no problems.

I have a dual boot setup and also wrote this Support request to technical-enquiries@synaptics.com
On my Windows boot partition I found the attached log file in C:\SWSetup\sp161512

Please help me to solve this strange behaviour.

Regards,
Marc Roland

Hi Marc,

Sorry for a delayed response. I checked internally and I hope by now you have received a follow up via technical-enquiries@synaptics.com.

I have already reset the DisplayLinkManager from version 6.2.0 back to version 6.1.1 to try it out. But unfortunately this doesn't change anything. So I strongly suspect that it is due to the firmware update from Cypress, which was installed for me under Windows silenty using the ‘HP Support Assistant’. See HPUP_20251009180529.log - does anyone know how I can get the old firmware?
