Hello,

Just purchased a Wavlink WS-UDT41-B thunderbolt dock with DL-6950 chipset.

I have one 18.5inch 4K (3840x2160) portable monitor. When I connect it to the displaylink HDMI port, I got full range of HiDPI resolutions, as attached image.

Now I want to buy another portable monitor at around 16 inch, I have these options:
- 3240x2160 (3:2. 260ppi)
- 3072x1920 (16:10, 226ppi)
- 3200x2000 (16:10, 236ppi)
I would like to understand what HiDPI resolution will be available under these resolutions.

Thanks!

Got the answer myself:

So before paying real money to buy a monitor, I bought a HDMI dummy dongle. I can use the edid-rw to write a fake EDID to the dongle, plug it in the DisplayLink port, and mirror my real monitor to the dummy to check result (also use BetterDisplay's display information page).

- 3072x1920 (16:10) : HiDPI is enabled at 1536x960.
- 3200x2000 (16:10): HiDPI is enabled at 1600x1000.
- 3240x2160 (3:2): No HiDPI available at whatever supported resolution.
