I should point out that my Lenovo W520 only supports 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 over DisplayLink:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/deta...DocID=PD015362
but my monitor is DVI-D only (no other inputs).

And because I'm up to 3 monitors, but my docked W520 can only do 2 digital displays externally at a time, I'm stuck using the Lenovo dock for the 3rd monitor connection.

So I use the Accell adapter coming straight out the DisplayPort on the laptop itself (not the dock), and it works.

Occasionally, I'm getting occasional BSODs (dlkmd.sys 0x0000007E) now upon wake-up from suspend, on Windows 7 x64 SP1. But I suspect that's due to my Lenovo USB 3.0 dock and/or drivers, not the Accell adapter (which requires no driver).

Hoping Windows 8 and the DisplayPort drivers eventually get me complete stability, but even now, it's not bad (1 in 8 wake-ups bluescreen, stable once operating), so it's worth the hassle/wait for me.

Updates made to my QNIX monitor post here:

Can you see if the BSODs are still present in v6.3 M1 and post your log files if you still have the problem? I want to get that fixed if its still there.

Excellent, will do, thank you!
(yes, the BSODs were with DisplayLink-iPad_6.3M0.exe so time for me to grab some DisplayLink Support Files and upload 'em)

tinkererguy 08-06-2012 12:38 AM

I've included a .zip file with DisplayLink-iPad_6.3M0.exe active, which shares the same BSOD issues coming out of suspend as DisplayLink-6.3M0.exe does, so it's hopefully helpful.

Please let me know if there's something else you need me to do, thank you!

Here's another .zip file attachment, right after a reboot, moments after I got this catch-all error:
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

If I uninstall the DisplayLink software, and reboot, all is well, no stability issues with the Lenovo provided video driver I'm using:

Did this help? Do you need anything else?

Mini dump attached as well.

I think these are known in v6.3 M0. I've just updated the iPad software to be v6.3 M1. Can you try this version and see if it solves the issue?

Thanks

Wim

Nice work! Your new v6.3 M1 version dated August 9th
http://displaylink.com/support/downloads_ipad.php
seems to have fixed the occasional BSOD issue for me, when coming out of suspend.

Looking forward to Windows 8 x64 RTM next week, to test with (beta) DisplayLink iPad software.

Deleting my uploaded log files shortly, now that we're all set, still hoping you come up with a way to privately share log files in the future (private messages?).

Thank you!

Spoke too soon. Sorry to say, blue screen of death again today, coming out of resume, with the v6.3 M1 version.

Do you have a 7.x version of the iPad software to try (that'll also work with Windows 8)?

Now, a few days later, roughly 1 in 4 wake-ups are giving me an immediate BSOD again.

Minidump attached.
Diagnostic attached.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Also note that I have the Lenovo USB 3.0 dock attached, for all these tests (for 3rd monitor output).

If I need to detach that dock for these tests, I can, but I will need to use it on Windows 8 again, dropping iPad support if I must, to obtain stability and the use of my Lenovo USB 3.0 dock.

Thank you!
