The update did not fix the problem. App still crashes regularly. I can supply logs if needed. Also I signed up for email notifications and never got one! |

Random crashes with 1.10.1
As others have noted, the problem of random crashes of the app persists even with the new update. The app closes, and I must unplug from the dock, launch the app, and plug back in again. Please urgently fix this.

Hello, Can you please share more details I will need logfiles to check the feedback from the driver. For instructions on how to gather the logfiles please navigate to the following article How to report macOS issues to DisplayLink And aslo for speedy support please send an email with the logfiles and detailed problem description to: technical-enquiries@synaptics.com |
I didn't have any crashes of the app but everything was super laggy. I now went back to 1.8.1 and it works with Sonoma just fine and has no big issues.

Reverting back does not work for me

I tried reverting back to 1.8.1 and it still starts rapidly jumping back and forth from recognizing other displays to not recognizing them. I'm on Sonoma 14.4.1. Please let me know if anyone finds a solution to this! |

I'm having the same problems of my Displaylink-managed monitor going black after 1-2 minutes. I've done the full removals and reinstalls as suggested by support and sent in my logs. Nothing to do but wait, but it's definitely broken.

I can confirm even with the latest upgrade to v1.10.1 that DisplayLink continues to randomly crash and my monitor (ASUS MB169B+) just freezes on the last image it was showing. This is really annoying. I really hope you all find a fix for this soon!
OS: Sonoma 14.4.1 (INTEL) |

We are aware that despite releasing 1.10.1 there are still some cases, where the user can observe instabilities of the application. We are investigating this problem with the highest priority |

Is there any other 3rd party software that anyone found that works? Would love for this to stop happening. |

Crashing for me as well. Seems to be better than 1.10.0, but still not fixed.

Crashing since last update for me
Display Link Manager 1.10.1 Build 93
MacOS Sonoma V 14.0 MacBook Pro 13" M1 2020 8gb Dell Universal Dock D6000 Running 3 external Monitors plus open claim shell. Crashes randomly through out the day. Roughly 5-20 times per 9 hour work day. Current work around, I keep display link shortcut on my bar and just relaunch it when it crashes. :p Reading in the other thread that it stops working in the next up date has me worried. I very much rely on the external monitors. Really do not want to spend another $500-$1000 on another dock/software just to move away from display link. Suddenly not working on MacOS after an update has always been a primary concern with this setup. |
Seen tech support post this in another thread about crashing.

We reported an issue where monitors need to be unplugged/plugged in after a reboot, but we found that updating the dock firmware fixed that issue. The only issue we have now is the flat/signed PKG provided by DisplayLink has a few lines in it's embedded postinstall script that uses bad syntax. I provided the correct syntax for those lines, and we hope to see 1.10.2 with the fix. :) Until we do, we had to commit the cardinal sin...we expanded their PKG, fixed the postinstall script, and saved it again...it is a sin because the PKG is now signed using OUR developer signing certificate. Please fix your postinstall script |

Any updates?
Bumping this post again.
No response from DL admins or anything? This is obviously a widespread issue, so I'd hope we get some kind of response here. |
I downgraded to Display Link Manager 1.9.0 and it is working well now.
Mac mini M1 2020, with Studio Display and two LG monitors. |

I also had this issue.
14.4.1, dual HDMI, 1440p or 1080p didn't matter but might have occurred more on 1440p, Macbook Pro M3 What I did was use the dock for one monitor via HDMI and connect the other directly to my Macbook Pro M3. I thought it might have been overwhelming the connection or dock streaming two monitors over Displaylink. |
Same here

Same problem on my MacBook AIR M1 with Sonoma 14.5 and latest version of Display Link Manager.
App keeps crashing randomly. You'll find a sample log file attached. AF |
