Hello Michael,
As this is a public beta, you don't need a developer account.
You can enrol one machine from https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/
I did that from a brand new Macbook Air. It will then allow you to get the public beta when you check for system updates.
Regards,
Alban

10.14.2 has been installed on my system (the official Apple release, not the beta). At first, my 2 external monitors worked with the dock, meaning I was able to see my wallpaper, mouse, arrange the screens, etc.

Resolutions are mostly low resolution modes (even at 4k) and feels stuttery like airplay, but shows airplay off.

After about 5 minutes, both external screens went black with only a mouse cursor. This is getting ridiculous.

Just updated to 10.14.2 (after being on the beta versions) with a MBpro 2018 15" 2.9i; everything still works (2 Displaylink screens on a default 1920 4:3 resolution)!

I am now happy to unroll myself from the beta program and hopefully I can keep this osx version as my main version for the time to come ... I need some stability for my workflow

MacBookAir Mojave 10.14.2 - need help

Hi Alban

As I updated my mac os to 10.14.2 and installed DisplayLink latest driver 5.0.1, nothing works still.

I installed the driver, then enable DisplayLink extension in my Security&Privacy settings too, and after I plugged the device to my MBA, nothing shows.

No AirPlay options, and no screen options in Displays settings too, things stay like I didnt plug no other screen, and only black screen on the other screen.

What else can I do? Pleaseeeeee help

THANKSS

Hello AKSG,
I will need logs here. I mean not only have we tried this many times, but the fix is even documented in the 10.14.2 release notes... I did that personally on a MBA 2018.
There's no AirPlay option on that OS. AirPlay was the temporary workarond when the OS API was not available.
I'd first remove the driver, then install it again, allow the extension, connect the device and then gather the logs.
Here is how to get the logs so my engineering team can look into this: https://support.displaylink.com/know...to-displaylink

Hi Wolfskin, thank you for the feedback.

Hi centersj, I think there's a confusion here. I don't see how 4K can be called a low resolution. You might refers to Retina and scaling of UI elements. We're aware of lower performance display when using scaling on Retina (that's what zooms the user interface elements so they are bigger on high resolution monitors). This is in discussion with the OS vendor as well. You can confirm this is the same thing by not doing scaling and checking performance is fine.

Kind regards
Alban

Hi AKSG, I see my colleague Wim is handling your ticket already and you've got something displays now after unblocking KEXT. No point in copying here, I agree.
Thank you!

I just updated my MBP to Mojave 10.14.2 and am pleased to see my Startech USB3.0 to HDMI 4K is functioning.
I'm running a display at 2560x1080 60hz

It's working quite allright but found a couple of bugs on the extended display.

1) within safari there are quite some glitches. For instance when multiple tabs are visible in de bar, these tabs are glitchy (transparant on off). These glitches don't exist in Google Chrome. Also some subframes in websites don't show content while in Google Chrome the same site subframes do show content. Then again it's not safari related because these glitches are non existent on my MBP screen.

2) I notice though in some software where moving meters (LED VU meters) are present that these meters are lagging a bit. This only happens when the window is maximized. In initial opening state the act the same way as on my MBP screen.

3) the osx animations are a little less smooth than on the native screen.

CPU use is fine. No runaway process and no excessive use.
Performance of mouse is good. No noticable lag. Moving screens around is smooth as well.

Overall I'm quite happy with it .
